Grit, Faith, & Patriotism: Chasen Dvorak

Some stories are too inspiring to keep to ourselves, and Chasen Dvorak’s is one of them. Known as Chase to some and Chasen to others, his life—rooted in resilience, family, and faith—perfectly aligns with the values of our community. Here’s how his journey brought him to our brand and why he’s a true embodiment of guts and grit.

From Arizona to Flagstaff: A Life Shaped by Strength and Dedication

Chasen has called Arizona home since the age of five. Growing up in North Phoenix and North East Scottsdale, he was raised by a single mom with the unwavering support of his grandparents. Together, they instilled in him a relentless drive to excel, no matter the challenge. From mastering golf and baseball as a child to earning a scholarship opportunity for golf (which he chose not to pursue), Chasen’s determination has always been evident.

Guided by his grandmother’s insistence on higher education, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology at NAU. During this time, he joined the youth internship program “Explorers/Cadets” and achieved the rank of Sergeant, earning the Chief of Excellence award in 2014. Alongside his studies, he honed his skills in martial arts and worked in security, often training others in self-defense.

After graduation, Chasen’s career took him to a mental health and behavioral center, where he served as both a security leader and self-defense trainer. Motivated by a passion for understanding human behavior, he earned his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a focus on Mental Health and Psychology. His expertise led to roles in workplace violence prevention, security training, and even becoming a Notary.

But life wasn’t without its challenges. In 2024, Chasen faced legal and personal upheaval, including false accusations and the start of a divorce process. This turning point led him back to Scottsdale and back to his faith.

Faith, Growth, and a New Chapter

Once back home, Chasen embraced his faith wholeheartedly. He connected with his church, where he was baptized, shared his testimony of overcoming suicide attempts, and became involved in multiple groups—even stepping into leadership roles. Isaiah 41:10 became his anchor, reminding him to rely on God’s strength in rebuilding his life.

Today, Chasen uses his extensive experience to advise on personal protection and self-defense, while also helping his friend at HEK Yeah BBQ, a local Phoenix gem. Between his church activities, client meetings as a Notary, and gym sessions, his days are a testament to his commitment to physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Finding Guts & Grit

Chasen’s introduction to our brand was serendipitous. “I was doom scrolling on Instagram and came across your page,” he recalls. The bold designs immediately caught his attention, and the "Load the Bar, Pass the Chalk, and Get the Hell Out of My Way" shirt sealed the deal. “I bought three shirts right away and fell in love with the fit, material, and how they matched my style.”

What Sets Us Apart

For Chasen, it’s not just the designs that stand out—it’s the people behind them. “Megan and Andre are some of the most badass, caring, and supportive people I’ve had the chance to know. You listen to your supporters and go above and beyond to help others,” he says.

The brand’s commitment to community and patriotism resonates deeply with Chasen. He highlights initiatives like the “Make No Peace With Evil, Destroy It” design, which reminds him of powerful faith-based scripture. The quality of the products only adds to his appreciation: “As a bigger guy, finding shirts that are true to size, breathable, and comfortable isn’t easy—but your products deliver every time.”

Connections That Matter

Through the brand, Chasen has built meaningful friendships and found opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals. “The conversations I’ve had with Megan and Andre and the friendships I’ve made through this community have been amazing,” he shares.

Chasen’s passion for our brand doesn’t stop at wearing the gear. “I tell my friends about Guts & Grit every chance I get,” he says, whether it’s directing people to our website or responding to compliments on his shirts.
